Fatal Hour - 1931 Arthur Wontner Sherlock Holmes Film Restored by Jeff Joseph

Status of the Arthur Wontner Sherlock Holmes Movies Thanks to  John Semper Jr. for letting me know that the Arthur Wontner Sherlock Holmes Fatal Hour (The Sleeping Cardinal 1931) has been restored. Jeff Joseph, long time film collector, historian has restored it.  To learn more about Jeff check out his excellent book with Jeff Bartok on the interesting world of 16mm 35mm film collecting, " A Thousand Cuts ". Silver Blaze - Arthur Wontner Sherlock Holmes movie restored by Film Detective

 Full credit to Philip Hopkins at Film Detective for restoring the Arthur Wontner Sherlock Holmes movie from 1937 "Silver Blaze". The Film Detective founder Philip Hopkins has channeled his life-long passion for film collecting into the leading purveyor of classic film restoration and distribution of broadcast-quality, digitally-remastered material.  Since launching services in 1999, he has distributed his film library into the home video market and through leading broadcast platforms such as Turner Classic Movies, American Movie Classics, NBC, Hulu, Amazon, and EPIX HD.   British Actor Arthur Wontner played Sherlock Holmes in movies from 1931-1937. Here is what I believe is the latest information on the 5 films. The movies are: The Sleeping Cardinal (1931) (USA title: Sherlock Holmes' Fatal Hour ), based on Doyle's two stories, "The Final Problem" and "The Adventure of the Empty House" (Lost) The Missing Rembrandt (1932)  based on "The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton The Sign of Four: Sherlock Holmes' Greatest Case (1932) The Triumph of Sherlock Holmes (1935), based on The Valley of Fear Silver Blaze (1937) (USA title: Murder at the Baskervilles , release 1941), based on "The Adventure of Silver Blaze" All the movies except The Missing Rembrandt are readily available for free viewing on the internet.  The Missing Rembrandt is still considered a lost film. The films are also available in various DVD compilations over the years. Unfortunately the quality of the picture and sound is usually qui
